to the numerous and authoritative contributions on the importance and effectiveness of the prayer of the Holy Rosary Father Leo XIII of happy memory may well be called "the Pope of the Rosary." We remember them:

• the Encyclical Supreme Apostolatus "(September 1, 1883). It is established to add, in the Litany of Loreto the invocation "Queen of Most Sacred Rosary, ora pro nobis."

Even without such a substantial production of documents, all the Popes, from Leo XIII onwards, at least, but, as we have seen, albeit briefly, earlier, are authoritatively intervened in favor of this devotion today so dear to the Christian people . We hope confidently in a rapid spread of this prayer, simple, yet rich and meaningful, because even in our days is "singular magnum ac in Ecclesia Praesidium" on which the waves are breaking threatening error, apostasy, frightening indifference that beset his life.
